Tip: right-click any spot on Google Maps and copy the coordinates

A red Swiss flag is automatically overlaid on the QR — required by Swiss banks.

Paste a BOLT11 invoice (lnbc...) or a Lightning address. We prefix with the lightning: URI scheme so any Lightning wallet can scan it.

Compatible with Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden, and any standard TOTP app.

Encodes the entire authorized_keys line. Scan to copy/paste the key onto a new machine.

For very long keys, use rMQR landscape or split into multiple QRs. Standard QR caps around ~2KB.

The official WireGuard mobile apps scan these directly. Never include your private key in a printed QR — only digital sharing.

GS1 Digital Link is the modern web-friendly alternative to the EAN-13 barcode for retail products. Resolver domain defaults to id.gs1.org but you can use your own.

Paste the share link from the Spotify app, or just the ID. We build the open.spotify.com URL automatically.

Format depends on platform — for Mastodon use @user@instance, for Bluesky use handle.bsky.social, for Nostr paste the npub key.

Geo URI (RFC 5870) opens directly in any maps app on the device — Google Maps, Apple Maps, OsmAnd, etc. — without picking a vendor.

Standard BitTorrent magnet link. Scanned by any BitTorrent client that supports URI scheme handlers.

Paste a full RFC 5545 iCalendar payload — supports multiple events, alarms, recurring rules. Most calendar apps import the QR directly.

Local uploads stay in your browser and only appear on the printed card. MeCard QR data has no photo field.

MeCard is a simpler alternative to vCard, preferred by some Android devices

Micro QR capacity: 35 digits, 21 uppercase alphanumeric, or ~15 bytes (lowercase/URLs). Best for short codes, serial numbers, and IDs. For URLs, use standard QR instead.

Most phone cameras cannot scan Micro QR codes. This format requires specialized industrial scanners (e.g. Scandit, Cognex). Use standard QR for general-purpose scanning.

Rectangular Micro QR — a narrow, wide format ideal for test tubes, wristbands, and ticket strips. Up to 361 characters.

Most phone cameras cannot scan rMQR codes. This format requires specialized industrial scanners. Use standard QR for general-purpose scanning.

Batch Generation

Upload a CSV to generate up to 500 QR codes in a single batch. Each row becomes its own QR — pick a template or override 21 properties on a per-row basis: colors, frames, dot/eye/eyeball styles, gradients, transparency, size, error correction, format, built-in logo, and more.

21 columns: type, data, filename, frametext, frame, template, fgcolor, bgcolor, size, ec, dotstyle, eyestyle, format, logo, gradient, g2, gtype, gangle, transparent, eyeball, eyecolor. Only type and data are required. Use | to separate fields inside data (e.g. ssid|password|WPA).

All 20 QR types supported, including URL, WiFi, vCard, MeCard, Email, SMS, Event, Location, UPI, SEPA, PayPal, Crypto, Micro QR and rMQR. Download the sample CSV to see every column, all 40 templates, 11 frame styles, and the 12 built-in logos in action.

Save the entire QR — type, all field values, style, frame, logo, business card design — as a single .qr.json file. Load it later to recreate everything in one click.

What Is a Micro QR Code?

Micro QR (ISO/IEC 18004) is a compact variant of the standard QR code, designed for applications where space is extremely limited. It uses only one position detection pattern (instead of three), making it significantly smaller while still being machine-readable. Micro QR codes come in four versions (M1-M4) supporting up to 35 digits or 21 alphanumeric characters.

Micro QR is a rare feature — most free QR code generators don't support it. Abundera QR is one of the only tools that generates Micro QR codes at no cost.

Micro QR vs Standard QR

How to Create a Micro QR Code

  1. Enter short content — keep it under 21 characters for best results. Uppercase letters and numbers work best.
  2. Customize the style — colors, dot shapes, and templates all work with Micro QR.
  3. Download in SVG for maximum precision at any print size.

Where to Use Micro QR Codes

Frequently Asked Questions

Can smartphones scan Micro QR codes?

Most phone cameras cannot scan Micro QR codes. This format is designed for specialized industrial scanners like Scandit, Cognex, or Keyence. For codes that need to be scanned by phone cameras, use standard QR codes instead.

How much data can a Micro QR code hold?

Micro QR supports up to 35 numeric digits, 21 alphanumeric characters, or about 15 bytes of binary data. This is suitable for serial numbers, batch codes, short IDs, and similar compact data. For longer content, use standard QR.

What is the difference between Micro QR and rMQR?

Micro QR is square and very compact. rMQR (Rectangular Micro QR) is elongated/rectangular, designed for narrow spaces like test tubes and wristbands. rMQR can hold more data than Micro QR. Both require specialized scanners.

What are the four Micro QR versions (M1-M4)?

M1 is the smallest at 11×11 modules and holds only 5 digits. M2 (13×13) holds 10 digits or 6 alphanumeric. M3 (15×15) holds 23 digits or 14 alphanumeric. M4 (17×17) is the largest at 35 digits or 21 alphanumeric. The generator picks the smallest version that fits your data automatically.

Why does Micro QR have only one finder pattern?

Standard QR codes have three large squares in the corners (the finder patterns) that scanners use to detect orientation. Micro QR has just one, which saves space but makes orientation detection harder — that's part of why phone cameras struggle with it. Industrial scanners use specialized algorithms that can handle the single-pattern layout reliably.

Can I use Micro QR for UDI medical device labelling?

Yes — Micro QR is one of the symbologies accepted under FDA UDI rules and EU MDR for direct part marking on small medical devices. It's commonly used on surgical instruments, dental tools, and small implants where there's no room for a standard QR or Data Matrix. Make sure your scanning workflow uses an industrial reader certified for the symbology.

Is Micro QR the same as Data Matrix?

No — they're different symbologies. Data Matrix is another small 2D barcode commonly used in industrial marking, with its own format and minimum size. Micro QR is part of the QR code family (ISO/IEC 18004). Both serve similar use cases, and the choice usually comes down to which scanner family your facility already supports.
